More Than High Tea: Building Connection, One Conversation at a Time

There is something timeless about gathering around a table. A beautiful setting, a cup of tea, delicious food, and most importantly, genuine conversation.
Our recent Verandah High Tea was exactly that.

Set amongst the elegance and charm of one of the Adelaide Hills' most beautiful venues, the afternoon brought together an incredible group of women from across our community. Some arrived with friends, while others came on their own, perhaps a little nervous, but every woman left having made new connections.
For me, that's what these events are really about.
When I founded The Women Adelaide Hills, it wasn't simply to create another networking group. It was to create a community where women feel welcome, supported, encouraged and inspired. A place where conversations happen naturally, ideas are shared openly, collaborations begin, and genuine friendships are formed.
So often, as women, we're busy building businesses, raising families, caring for others or simply trying to keep up with the pace of life. It can be surprisingly difficult to find the time or opportunity to simply connect with like-minded women who understand the journey.
That's why afternoons like these matter.
The Verandah High Tea wasn't about collecting business cards or making sales pitches. It was about slowing down, sharing stories, celebrating one another and remembering that community is built one conversation at a time.
One of the most meaningful parts of the afternoon was being able to support Catherine House.
As many of you know, Catherine House provides vital support, accommodation and pathways to independence for women experiencing homelessness in South Australia. Their work changes lives, and I feel incredibly privileged that our community could play a small part in supporting their important mission.

Together, we raised funds that will help Catherine House continue providing safety, hope and practical support to women who need it most. Every ticket purchased, every raffle prize donated and every contribution made during the afternoon demonstrated just how generous this community truly is.
To everyone who attended, donated, volunteered, supported or simply shared encouragement -thank you.

You are helping create something much bigger than an event. You are helping build a community where women genuinely lift each other up.
As I looked around the room, watching conversations flow, laughter echo across the verandah and new friendships begin, I couldn't help but feel excited for what's still to come. This is only the beginning.
There are so many more opportunities ahead to connect, collaborate and celebrate the incredible women who call the Adelaide Hills home. Whether you're a business owner, professional, creative, community leader or simply looking to meet wonderful women, there is a place for you here.
I hope you'll join us at one of our upcoming events or even become a member.
Because sometimes all it takes is one conversation to change everything.
