Why I’ll Always Believe in Starting Again

Updated: Aug 30

I’ve always believed in the beauty of starting over. In reinvention. In rising - not despite our age, our circumstances, or our responsibilities, but because of them. And The Women Adelaide Hills is born from that very belief.

For years, I’ve been building brands, designing websites, and helping others bring their visions to life. I’ve poured my creativity into nearly 200 businesses, shaping their voices and their presence. But behind the scenes, I was searching for something I couldn’t quite find — my own tribe. A community where women in business could feel genuinely connected, supported, and seen.

This is my why.

I’m about to turn 60. I don’t have the kind of safety net that many women my age might lean on, but what I do have is determination — and a fierce belief that it’s never too late to rise, to rebuild, and to create something meaningful. For 13 years, I’ve been a full-time carer for my beautiful 91-year-old mum. It’s been an honour and a gift, but it has also meant putting many of my own dreams on hold. At the same time, I’ve had the joy and responsibility of sharing my home with my two adult daughters and four grandchildren — a house full of laughter, life, and love.

It hasn’t always been easy to grow a business in the middle of it all. But it’s in that space — of holding so much for others, and still choosing to rise — that I found my truest purpose.

Why I created The Women Adelaide Hills.

Because I know what it feels like to wonder if it’s too late to begin again. To lose yourself in responsibility. To put your dreams on hold for everyone else. And I also know the courage it takes to show up — exactly as you are — when the world tells you to shrink back.

The Women Adelaide Hills is my answer to that. It’s a space for women in business to belong, to be celebrated, and to be reminded that their dreams don’t expire with age, circumstances, or seasons of life. It’s about connection, collaboration, and creating opportunities for women to not just have a seat at the table, but to design the room.

This isn’t just about me starting again. It’s about all of us — rising together.

I want you to feel seen. I want your work to have a voice and your presence to have a home. And I want you to know that even in the middle of the chaos, caregiving, change, or reinvention—your dreams are still valid.

This is a space for collaborating, connecting and rising and maybe for some, starting again.

This is where I rise. And if you're here, I hope you'll rise with me.

Let's rise with intention!
